OAuthException
Page Access Token expired
Re-run OAuth in HAPP → Integrations → Facebook Messenger → Reconnect. It takes under a minute.
Permissions
Messenger permissions not granted
During OAuth the pages_messaging or pages_manage_metadata permissions were not approved. Re-run authorization and approve all permissions.
Webhook
Webhook not registered
HAPP could not register the Webhook in Meta. Verify all permissions are granted and reconnect.

FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about Facebook Messenger integration.
Do I need a personal Facebook account to connect?
Yes, but only for OAuth authorization. You need a personal Facebook account with admin or editor rights on the business Page. After authorization HAPP works autonomously — the personal account is not used.
What is pages_messaging and why is it needed?
pages_messaging is a Meta permission that allows HAPP to send and receive messages on behalf of your Facebook Page via the Messenger API. Without it the integration cannot send replies.
Can I connect multiple Facebook Pages?
Yes. During OAuth authorization select multiple Pages at once. Each Page creates its own channel in HAPP with its own assistant or operator team.
Is there a 24-hour window in Messenger like in WhatsApp?
Yes. Meta allows free replies for 24 hours after the customer's last message. After that, Message Tags must be used for specific scenarios or notification subscriptions.
Can I see in HAPP who messaged in Messenger?
Yes. HAPP receives the PSID (Page-Scoped User ID) — a unique sender identifier for your Page. Name and photo are fetched via Graph API unless the user restricted access.
What happens if I revoke permissions in Facebook settings?
HAPP will receive an OAuthException and stop processing messages. Go to HAPP → Integrations → Facebook Messenger, click Reconnect, and re-run OAuth.
Can customers tell an AI is replying?
The customer sees messages from your Facebook Page — the Page name and photo remain yours. You decide whether to mention that an AI assistant is responding.
