FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about connecting a personal WhatsApp number.
What is the difference between QR and pairing code connection?
The QR code is scanned with the phone camera via WhatsApp → Linked Devices. The pairing code is an 8-digit numeric code entered in the same menu without a camera. Both methods give the same result.
Does the smartphone need to be online at all times?
HAPP uses WhatsApp Multi-Device, so the smartphone doesn't need to be online constantly. However, if the phone is offline for more than 14 days, WhatsApp will end the session and you'll need to reconnect.
When should I choose Business API over personal connection?
Business API is better if you need a verified business number, scaling to thousands of messages per day, or sending outbound messages via templates. Personal connection is for a fast start without a Meta Business account.
Can I connect multiple WhatsApp numbers?
Yes. Each number connects separately via its own QR code and creates its own channel in HAPP with its own assistant or operator team.
Is QR code connection secure?
Yes. The connection uses WhatsApp's standard Linked Devices mechanism — the same one used by WhatsApp Web. HAPP does not store passwords or share data with third parties.
What happens to messages if HAPP is temporarily unavailable?
WhatsApp keeps messages on its servers. When HAPP reconnects — all missed messages will be synced and processed automatically.
Can customers tell an AI is replying?
The customer sees a message from your regular WhatsApp number — name and avatar remain yours. You're free to mention or not mention that it's an AI assistant.
