FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about WhatsApp Business integration.
What is the difference between WhatsApp Business and WhatsApp Business API?
WhatsApp Business is an app for small businesses with manual management. WhatsApp Business API is an automation interface via Meta for Developers. HAPP uses the API version, which processes messages programmatically without a mobile device.
Why is a Meta Business account required?
WhatsApp Business API is only accessible through Meta Business Manager. It is needed to register the phone number, get the Phone Number ID, manage templates, and configure Webhook subscriptions.
What is a Phone Number ID and where do I find it?
Phone Number ID is the unique identifier of your number in Meta's system. Find it at developers.facebook.com: your app → WhatsApp → Getting Started → Phone Number ID.
Are templates required to reply to customers?
No. If a customer messaged you first, for 24 hours you can reply with any text without a template. Templates are only required for outbound messages — when you initiate the conversation.
Can customers tell an AI is replying?
It's up to you. The customer sees a message from your WhatsApp Business number — name and avatar remain yours. You're free to mention or not mention that it's an AI assistant.
What happens when the Access Token expires?
HAPP will notify you and stop processing new messages. Generate a new token in Meta for Developers and update it in HAPP → Integrations → WhatsApp — the process takes under a minute.
Can I connect multiple WhatsApp numbers?
Yes. Each number connects separately via its Phone Number ID and creates its own channel in HAPP with its own assistant or operator team.
