FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about Viber integration.
What is a Viber Public Account and how does it differ from a regular account?
Viber Public Account is a verified business profile with API access. Unlike a personal account, it allows automating messages via external systems like HAPP and accepting an unlimited number of subscribers.
Where do I find the Viber API token?
The token is in the Viber Admin Panel (partners.viber.com): select your bot → Edit info → Authentication token. The token is issued once — save it right after creating the bot.
How do response templates work in Viber?
Templates are pre-written message texts with variables (name, order number, etc.). HAPP substitutes data automatically on send. You can also configure keyboard buttons so customers tap instead of typing manually.
Can a customer message first?
Yes. The customer subscribes to the Viber Public Account and can message at any time. HAPP receives the message via Webhook and the AI assistant replies automatically.
Can I send messages to customers first?
Yes, but only to your Public Account subscribers. Viber allows sending messages to those who subscribed to the bot. Unsolicited spam to strangers is blocked at the platform level.
What should I do if the token expired or was reset?
Generate a new token in Viber Admin Panel → Edit info → Auth token and update it in HAPP → Integrations → Viber → Settings. HAPP will automatically re-register the Webhook with the new token.
Can I connect multiple Viber bots?
Yes. Each bot connects separately via its own token and creates its own channel in HAPP with its own assistant or operator team.
